A high quality heavy paper lecture poster from 1910, of Commander Robert E. Peary lecturing at Symphony Hall in Boston, presented by the Appalachian Mountain club, just after his return from the North Pole. A superb decoration for all North Pole collectors. Originals are virtually unobtainable.
Measures 22 by 14 inches, printed in shades of blue, pale green, brown, and orange.
This is a full-size reproduction of a extremely rare poster advertising a lecture by Robert Peary only a few months after he returned to the U.S. from the North Pole (his book, The North Pole, was not published until September 1910).
Neither Symphony Hall in Boston nor the Appalachian Mountain Club has a copy of this poster in their archives, nor did the Boston Public Library (which has an extensive collection of posters relating to Boston) until they bought the original from the poster maker, who was an antiquarion bookseller in New England.
Postage is $5 USA, $10 foreign, rather than what the default postage shows on our checkout. However, other posters bought today from us can be included with no additional shipping charge.
