This is a Very Good, or Near Fine, copy in the original green fine-cloth boards, titled in gilt and featuring a black-inked front cover vignette by Compton, showing a jungle campsite with tents, etc, and Kilimanjaro in the background. The covers show rubbing and wear to the edges and corners. There is some darkening to the spine. The original spine is gilt-lettered, and shows an assortment of climbing gear. Hinges have been repaired, binding is now firm. Top edge gilt. The text pages are fresh, clean and bright, as are the maps and plates. The interior is in Near Fine condition with no writing or foxing, bookplates have been removed from inside the front cover and the FEP, Front endpaper. Very Good or Near Fine. This is a very handsome book.
