New York, 1986, 1st edition. 351 pp, many color and b/w photos, bibliography. Salmon-colored original cloth hardcover with silver embossed lettering on the spine and dust jacket. Peter Jenkins enclosed a form letter that is SIGNED by him, he was getting thousands of requests for Signatures. The letter and envelope are loosely tucked in to this copy if his book. Who is Peter Jenkins? Everybody has forgotten his Walk Across America, '' known for walking from New York to Oregon between October 1973 and January 1979.'' You should read about him on Wikipedia. In all his walking he got married 3 times. And had a bunch of kid`s. His China Walk came right after he joined the 1984 American ascent of the Everest North Face. Peter Jenkins was invited to join an expedition to Mount Everest as a biographer, having previously published travel biographies from tours he had made across America. This book describes his journey to Tibet, Mount Everest, and across China from Mongolia to Shanghai.
