This incredible mountaineering book has the actual signatures, not facsimiles, of the ten surviving members in 1993 of the first ascent 1953 team. Their names are listed below, as well an image of the of signatures. The image was taken from this actual book, it is not a stock photo. London, 1993, 40th anniversary edition. 280 pp, 48 plates. Published by the Mount Everest Foundation to commemorate the 40th anniversary. Photo reproduction is much better than the first edition. Leather binding plus a slipcase. Includes a page of real signatures of the whole team who were alive in 1993. Limited to 500 copies. SIGNED in 1993 by George Band, Charles Evans, Alfred Gregory, Edmund Hillary, John Hunt, George Lowe, Griffiths Pugh, Michael Ward, Michael Westmacott and Charles Wylie. Above, Exterior cover of the 1993 40th Anniversary Edition of The Ascent of Everest. The book is bound with a leather spine and corners. The book comes with a matching slipcase, with custom blue cloth on boards.
