CA, 1974, 1st edition. 48 pp, 48+ topos. Paperback, 11''x8.5''.The cover has some light soiling, edges slightly worn. Otherwise Very Good. This was the true first guidebook to Yosemite that used topos drawings. Up until this time the drawings were shared on an informal basis in Camp 4, and Jim Bridwell was the chief keeper of the topos. This was the first time the topos were gathered into a book, bound with a plastic slide as if it were a handout at a business meeting. Very few copies were printed, and within a year or two, George Meyers used this as the basis for his first Yosemite Topo Guidebook which remained the essential Yosemite guidebook for three decades. There are some neatly written additions to ratings and directions, and hardware needed, on a few climbs. The climb with the most commentary is Number 29, the Northwest Face of Half Dome. The topo had been removed, and was folded into eighths, used on the climb, and then returned to its proper place in the volume (without getting damaged!)
