Canada, 2000. 56 pp, photos. Magazine format, 8'' x 11''. Near Fine condition. This is a magazine with the theme of mountains, and of course climbing is only one small activity that is mountain related. The major real world themes are people, flora and fauna who live in the mountains, the effects of global warming, and hundreds of other angles. This issue from 2000 has several articles about films in the mountains, from Hollywood to documentary, etc. One of my favorite films is by Wendy Wacko, a film-maker who did a dramitization of Hermann Buhl's story, titled ''The Climb.'' This 1986 film came out just as VHS home videos made their first appearance, and we sold copies at that time. It is an excellent film, for among other things, it just tells his story on Nanga Parbat, with no gun-play or other Hollywood-ism addition.
