This book is large and heavy so we may request extra postage for Media Mail, Priority Mail or International Mail. This book has text in French, however, it is clearly more of a photo book and as such the captions will tell you enough for identification. There are only a few pages of actual text content. In 1991 Catherine was at the apex of her career, as was the photographer Gerard Kosicki. About half the book was shot at rock climbing areas in the USA: Areas visited include Indian Creek Utah, Moses Tower Utah, El Capitan Yosemite, Mali, Fremont Canyon Wyoming, Corsica, Thailand, Bonatti Pillar on the Dru solo, Trango Tower, Red Rocks Nevada, Peak District UK, Arches Utah, Colorado, Chamonix, Verdon, etc. Catherine Destivelle (b July 1960) is a French rock climber and mountaineer. In 1992 she became the first woman to complete a solo ascent of the Eiger's north face. She completed the climb in winter in 17 hours. Her other notable climbs include the Bonatti Route on the north face of the Matterhorn and the southwest pillar of the Aiguille du Dru (the Bonatti Pillar). Destivelle has been the subject of several documentaries.
