This is his memoir of climbd in Scotland, Alps, Pyrenees, Andes, Patagonia, Bugaboos, Canadian Rockies, Switzerland, Peru, Bolivia, His accounts of mountaineering in Scotland and overseas capture his enthusiasm, passion, commitment and sense of adventure, each journey an almost spiritual engagement with the mountain environment; the vision and diversity of expeditions limitless. By using remote bothies (huts), high camps, snow caves and open bivouacs he is very much at home among the mountains. He also illustrates how mountaineering can sometimes be a risky business, demonstrating an uncanny capacity to warn of potentially threatening events. It�s all there: a collection of epic accounts, from being caught in an avalanche, a cliff self-rescue and crevasse fall, to cornice collapse and hypothermia.
