Ascent was initiated as the mountaineering journal of the Sierra Club. It appeared occasionally over the years, from 1967 to 1989. Each issue is a collection of excellent writing about mountaineering, fiction, fact and poetry as well as photography and art related to mountains. Large format paper with full color covers.
