The two copies we have are in Near Fine to Fine condition. The binding glue has failed and one copy has been face stapled. The other copy has been reinforced with clear tape. Internally, they're both fine. We bought the last copies from Helen and Jene about twenty years ago. There is a great story about how we bought our Summit Magazines. Around 1992, after Helen and Jene had stopped publishing the magazines, they called me and asked if I would like to buy all the books they had ever reviewed in the magazine. Publishers always send review copies to magazines and newspapers. I was very excited and said yes, and in fact I was planning on being in California soon and could come by and pick them up. Just before my trip I called them to confirm the visit. They told me they had changed their mind and decided to keep the books. I asked them if they have any back issues of the magazine left. They said yes. I asked how many. They had no idea. So I asked them if it was all in one pile, how big would the pile be? They said, "It would be about 4 feet by 4 feet by 4 feet." I said, "Oh, then you have half a cord!" I did pick them up, there were over 3500 magazines. They said they still had some copies of Vol 1 No 1 left. They were 37 years old then. When I saw that Number Ones were white, I asked them to sign them. Now that I have had them almost as long as Helen and Jene did, we have only 1 signed one left, and a few unsigned number ones. Of their 3500 copies plus another 1000 I already had, we have only a few hundred left, very few from the collectible first 5 years.
