Poland, 1977, 1st edition. 140 pp, b/w photos. In Polish. Used softcover in Fine condition. The first conquest of the summit of Kangbachen was made by the Polish expedition of the Polish Mountain Club led by Piotr M�otecki in 1974. On May 26, 1974, Wojciech Bra�ski, Wies�aw K�aput, Marek Malaty�ski, Kazimierz Olech and Zbigniew Rubinowski made the summit. J�zef Olszewski was also in the assault group. However, due to his being ill, he stayed at the top of the last camp. The next day it turned into altitude sickness. An immediate decision was made to go to the base to give oxygen to the patient. Piotr M�otecki and Andrzej Pietraszek went to help the group. Everyone fought freezing that at night (no one had a tent because of a misunderstanding). The next day, two Sherpas came to the rescue: Jepa and Pasang Dawa. In the afternoon everyone got to the base safely. In his book In the Shadow of Kangchenkoenge Marek Malaty�ski describes the account of the expedition to Kangbachen in 1974. Piotr M�otecki describes the same trip here.
