This is the book that really kick started me in mountaineering book collecting. I was just buying blindly until I read Neate, cover to cover, and learned what was important and what was not.
Somehow we have accumulated a dozen copies of the paperback 1st edition, all in nice condition, and would like to see them in the homes of our customers who want to learn more about the history of mountaineering, and the history of the books on mountaineering.
Check our new price in these 12 copies. Of course you will be paying $1.50 each for postage, but you can't buy anything for $1.99 anymore, anywhere!
Seattle, Mountaineers, 1980, 1st edition. 165 pp. b/w photos and maps. Larger paperback in Very Good to Near Fine condition.
One of the most useful reference books on mountaineering literature and history. The first edition has some advantages over the second, with lists of first ascents and recommended reading, which are lacking in the 2nd edition.
