Interesting anecdotes from the climbing career of William Augustus Brevoort Coolidge [1850 - 1926], the American alpinist who moved first to England and then to Grindelwald. A little late to the climbing scene in the Alps, he nevertheless made several first ascents in the Alps during the 'silver age' of Alpinism, most notably that of Piz Badile when just 17.
