Noted German climber who died on Nanga Parbat in 1934. A biographical study of the collected writings of Willo Welzenbach who was Germany's foremost alpinist between the two World Wars, and whose life was cut short when he was killed on Nanga Parbat in 1934 at the age of thirty-three. During his short life he climbed 949 peaks and made 43 first ascents.
