Viewers are introduced to the various types of climbing, from beginner to expert, as well as various climbing techniques for each level; we learn about proper footwear and specialized clothing to wear; also the different types of gear required, be it for top-roping, support climbing or traditional climbing. We are shown how to use the equipment necessary to make steep climbs, including the two classes of climbing ropes (static and dynamic), cams, nuts, anchors and a climbing harness.
