ChesslerBooks.com Logo is on our website image, not on the actual banner! This is an original, authentic cloth banner with corner brass rivets and with a silk screened Chouinard Equipment Company for Alpinists design and Logo. These were given to climbing shops in the 1970s, for store display. None were ever given to the public. This one was obtained from a climber who worked in a climbing shop at that time. (By the way, most of the better old climbing posters were distributed that way as well. I worked in climbing shops in the 1960s and 709s, and once had over 50 old climbing posters, which I gave away to friends.) The cloth is heavy cotton, like awning or tarpaulin cloth. The banner is in excellent condition, it appears to have never been hung dor diplay, as it has no fading, no chipping or discolor on the cltoh or design, as is nice an example as you may ever find. There are no creases, only slight fold wrinkles that will flatten out. It appears to have been stored away from any sources of heat, light or dirt. Size is 30 inches wide and 14 inches high.
