U.S. AMES US ARMY RING WAFER PITONS: NOT MARKED We just came across a small lot (of 3) Ames Ring Wafer Pitons, used by the 10th Mountain Division during WWII. These Pitons are not marked, and appear to be the same as the Ames Wafers that are marked, except they are slightly narrower (1mm), and the rings are a thinner steel. They appear New and Unused, but may have minor Rust, which may or may not be removed. We just have this small lot and others listed on this website. Price is each: they are expensive because we have had dozens of phone calls over the last 20 years asking for them, and there are none available anywhere, and the demand is high. We have all almost five styles of pitons that the US Army issued. They are new and are offered only as collectibles. If you die using them, please sue the US Army, not us. Postage is $4 for the first piton, $1 each additional. RING WAFER ROCK PITON. 2 3/4' long, 1/8' thick with a 1' ring through the eye.
