Climbing Denali's West Rib. This American expedition nearly ended in disaster and had to wait out one of Denali's legendary storms in a snow cave. Storm Over Denali is Thom Pollard's personal narrative about the events surrounding a May 1994 attempt on Denali's (Mt. McKinley) technical West Rib route. As the team moves ever closer to the top of this classic Alaskan route at 16,400 feet, one day from their summit attempt, the Storm Over Denali moves in. With winds estimated at 150 miles per hour, their tent is totally destroyed. Mustering all of their reserves, the small team digs a snow hole, waiting out the storm in the belly of the mountain. Additional photography contributed by Bradford Washburn 52 minutes. Thom Pollard is an Emmy-award winning documentary filmmaker, having produced and filmed for National Geographic, Discovery, BBC, PBS and more. This is in New condition.
