Detailed Product Description
A superb full color satellite image map/poster. Very large 35" x 51", showing all peaks, glaciers, villages and culture for the entire region. This map was produced in Poland in 2004, using the best map and satellite sources then available. All names and data are in English. This map/poster cannot be shipped rolled, it is only available folded. The Mount Everest, Khumbu Himal, Rolwaling Himal, Khumbakarna Himal, Satellite Image Map 1 : 100 000 appeared in fall 2004. The basics is an image acquired by the satellite Landsat ETM+ from the height of ca. 830 km with ground resolution of 30 m per pixel, delivered and processed by Geosystems-Polska. All composition, added data and identification of all named or officially measured points is by Jan Zurawski. The legend is in English and Polish. The image gives insight far north into the Tibet unifying/balancing our knowledge about the relief of the whole Everest area. The map was produced both for use in trip planning and in the fields, or as a wall hanging. We purchased what may be the last copies available outside Poland. Postage on posters is $10 US and $30 international airmail for any quantity foldedor rolled maps or posters. We will charge that in addition to any books you buy after checkout. Non-Book items like collectible pitons, ice axes, nailed boots or vintage climbing ropes cannot be sent via "Media" rate and will be charged and sent via Priority Mail.
