England, 2011, 1st edition. 212 pp, 150 color photos. Hardcover with dust jacket. Fine. Rupert Hoare has written a personal account of thirty-eight years of walking, climbing, mountaineering and ski-mountaineering in Britain, the Alps and farther afield. He has enjoyed photography since his first mountain on the Isle of Jura and this book is richly illustrated with over 150 color photographs. About the Author Rupert Hoare was born in 1956 and educated at Winchester College and Exeter University. He has spent his career in oil exploration, working for Seismograph Service Limited, LASMO and WesternGeco. A former president of the London Mountaineering Club and the Alpine Ski Club, he married Jay Turner in 1996 and they currently lived in Aberdeenshire. Rupert died of pancreatic cancer in 2011.
