This early expedition explorered and climbed in the Nanda Devi - Trisul area of the Garhwal Himalaya of India. An attempt was made on Panch Chuli, 6904 meters or 22,651 feet. This peak was later attempted by Heinrich Harrer, and eventually climbed by the Indians in 1972. Later it was climbed by Stephen Venables who had a bad accident and had to be evacuated.
