<P>London, 1924, 1st edition, 2nd impression. 340 pp, 78 photos. Finch is chiefly known for having reached 8320m on Everest on the 1922 expedition, for which he was also responsible for the oxygen apparatus. A classic of early 20th century mountain climbing, the author (who was a scientist and who pioneered some of the equipment used on the successful ascent of Everest) gives us Corsica; the Wetterhorn; the Jungfrau and the Jungfraujoch, on skis in the Bernese Oberland; winter night on the Todi; The Bifertenstock; Monte Rosa; the Twins; the Matterhorn; the Dent D'Herens; Mont Blance; the Chamonix Aiguilles; the Aiguille du Dru; Mount Everest and a short chapter on mountaineering photography   He describes his extensive Alpine career, and was A.C. president from 1959-61. When he was A.C. president he was finally recognized for his contributions to Himalayan mountaineering. Internally Fine, but the spine edges are quite worn, Good.
