Cherie Bech (nee Bremer Kamp) met Chris Chandler on the 1978 American K2 Expedition led by Jim Whittaker and described in Galen Rowell's book In The Throne Room of the Mountain Gods. It was a controversial expedition, and they were at the center of it. In 1985 the attempted the North Face of Kangchenjunga in winter.
Chandler was lost, and this account appeared 2 years later. In 1988 we bought out the publisher of all remaining copies of this book, and thought we had sold them all, but just found one lost case of brand new books, Hardcovers with new dust jackets.
