Returns, Exchanges, Missing Shipments

Chessler Books will accept returns and exchanges for any reason for thirty days.

Please e-mail us first as some items are not worth returning (damaged posters, etc). Pack the items well, and mail them by the cheapest method, usually Media Mail, to:

Enclose a note with your name and address and what you need done (refund, exchange, etc).

Lost Shipments:

We use the US Post Offive for all shipments, never UPS or Fed Ex. They do a great job 99.99% of the time.

We lose about 1 package a month out of thousands shipped annually. Which means that your package will arrive if you wait a few more days!

We do not use package tracking because it would take us 10,000 minutes a year to fill out forms to find out that the twelve parcels a year that are lost are actually lost, which we already know! Plus, tracking does not do what is actually important, which is to find your package or get it to arrive. To be honest, we consider tracking and and insurance to be a scam by the post office to raise revenue.

We self insure, as insuring thousands of parcels a year would cost us more than replacing twelve orders a year. Plus all the time, forms, etc. We replace all lost orders.

USPS Mail shipments are not considered lost by the postal service until thirty days from mailing. So do we, just notify us. Most 'lost' parcels are really lost in the post office, or were delivered to your neighbor. Parcels to Europe and Asia take 7-30 days, to Canada may take 30-90 days or more.
